SQL Server 2005 Express
We offer the Express edition of SQL Server in all of our database enabled hosting packages (Win100 upwards) at no additional cost. This makes for the perfect replacement for MS Access driven websites. In addition the use of Management Studio Express will make database administration easier.
There are a number of limitations with the Express Edition, namely :
- No online (hot) backups.
- No scheduling of jobs.
- No full-text searches.
- No import/export facilities.
- No Notification Services.
- No Reports Services.
any websites which make use of this functionality will suffer a downtime of approximately 10 minutes per day (at around 3AM) whilst we back up the data.
SQL Server 2005 Standard
We are also offering the full edition of SQL 2005, but as an additional-cost option. Our SQL 2005 Standard servers are 64-bit and offer the best performance available.
Customers are entitled to download and run the full edition of SQL Management Studio and have full access to the scheduling of jobs, full-text searches etc. We perform daily online (hot) backups without interruption to service.
